Sarah Ban, Development and
Communications Associate

Sarah has worked in the editorial and communications fields for many years, playing an instrumental role in the production of various publications, including online news releases, directories and nonfiction manuscripts, to ensure effectiveness and fluidity in written messages to the public.  With a strong passion for microfinance and its standing as one of the most powerful tools to eradicate poverty, Sarah has also engaged in nonprofit fundraising, brand development, social media outreach and grass-roots marketing, underscoring the changing face of public relations alongside the increasingly dynamic two-way dialogue in an Internet-driven world.  She has evaluated and constructed news releases for NextAid; connected Kiva to a barter agreement; advised on online marketing strategies for telethon fundraiser “Drumming An End To Poverty”; and installed the social media base for the nonprofit arm of GreenMicrofinance.

Sarah graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2006 with bachelor's degrees in economics and communication. She enjoys reading blogs, eating sushi and traveling.  She is also passionate about human rights and clean water.
